The Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend encompasses 14 counties in northern Indiana.

It includes 81 parishes, two chapels, and four oratories. It is unique as it has two Cathedrals. The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Fort Wayne and the co-cathedral, St. Matthews in South Bend.

Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades was installed as the 9th bishop of Fort Wayne-South Bend

on January 13, 2010. He chose the phrase “VERITATEM IN CARITATE” as his personal motto. It translates into English as “Truth in Charity” and comes from Saint Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, “let us proclaim the truth in charity and grow to the full maturity of Christ the head.”
